In early 2025, York Minster will undergo a breathtaking transformation as the Colour & Light Wildlife Show returns to illuminate the city’s most iconic landmark. This free, immersive event will captivate visitors with dazzling projections that celebrate the natural beauty and rich history of York. Running from February 12th to March 2nd, 2025, this awe-inspiring experience is a must-see winter attraction.
A Celebration of Wildlife and History
Each evening, as darkness settles, the South Transept of York Minster will be bathed in radiant 3D projections, bringing to life York’s diverse wildlife in an extraordinary display of colour and motion.
From the regal peregrine falcons that nest in the cathedral’s towers to the elusive urban foxes that roam the city’s streets, the light show will pay tribute to the creatures that call York home. In a stunning fusion of past and present, the show will also depict Roman horses and legendary dragons, weaving a narrative that connects York’s historical roots with its thriving natural world.
